Funeral services for Fay Nell Lee, 83, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Larry Duke officiating, with burial in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lee passed away Saturday, June 30, at her home. She was born April 8, 1929, in Cullman to Joseph Wesley and Velie Mae Clark Thornton. She attended Jones Chapel Church of God prior to moving, then Ecorse Church of God in Michigan. Fay loved to grow things in her garden, and loved her flowers. Canning and cooking were a passion and was well known in the family for making the best cornbread. Mrs. Lee was loved and she loved all her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vurbon Curtis Lee; a son, Curtis Dale Lee; and several siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Sue (Jerry) Lee-Buckner of North Adams, Mich.; two sons, Raymond L. (Waynette) Lee of Shreveport, La., and Jason Ray Lee of Cullman; a daughter-in-law, Joan Lee of Wyandotte, Mich.; a sister, Leedell Whisenhunt of Good Hope; a brother, Melvin (Reba) Thornton of Vinemont; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
