Avelino E. Diaz , 74 of 2103 E. Harrison, died yesterday in Doctors Hospital.
He retired from the State Highway Department six years ago, and was a veteran of World War I. He came here from Puerto Rico 45 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Antonio and Carlos, both of Phoenix, and a daughter Mrs. Ann Rone of Phoenix, and 26 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 E. Indian School. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
