Services were held today in Myers Chapel, Porterville, for Warren Krieger, 57, manager of the Visalia office of the Tulare County Welfare Department. He died Friday in his Porterville home.

Kireger was a native of Lindsay and attended Woodlake schools. He graduated from the College of the Sequoias in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1945. After his discharge, he was engaged in trucking and agriculture in Tulare County.

In 1954, Krieger went to work for the welfare department as a social worker. Most of his employment with the welfare office was in Porterville where he advanced to supervisor and the to assistant district office chief. In 1972, Krieger was selected as the Porterville office "Employee of the Year."

He was appointed director of the Tulare office in 1977 and in 1979, assumed the position of manager of the Visalia office.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Krieger, Porterville; a son, John Krieger, Modesto; a daughter, Joan Cupp, Shrewsbury, Pa.; his mother, Dora Potter, Porterville, a brother Charles Krieger, Villa Park; and three grandchildren.

The family requests that remembrances be made in the form of donations to the American Heart Fund.

Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
