Rosalin Joan DeJaynes, 79, of The Elms, Macomb, formerly of Blandinsville, died early Wednesday morning, July 4, 2012 at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb, following a long battle with Parkinson's. She was born May 24, 1933 in Joetta, Illinois, daughter of Irvin (Pete) and Lottie Hutchins Martin. She attended school in Plymouth, Illinois. On June 14, 1950, she married Roy E. DeJaynes in Plymouth. He died May 6, 2012.

Throughout her life Joan was a homemaker and farmer, as she and Roy farmed in Augusta, Colchester, and LaHarpe. Following retirement, they moved to Blandinsville, where they lived until they both entered The Elms. In earlier years Joan spent many hours canning food that she grew in the garden, sharing it with family and friends. For many years she was well-known for her extensive Christmas decorations. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her family and friends.

Joan is survived by three children: Randy (Arlis) DeJaynes of Forsyth, Illinois, Roger (Gretchen) DeJaynes of Blandinsville, Illinois, Rhonda (Jacqueline Savage) of Santa Rosa, California; six grandchildren: Jamie DeJaynes of Monahans, Texas, Adam DeJaynes of Chatham, Illinois, Christopher DeJaynes of Decatur, Illinois, Melissa Bouseman of Marion, Iowa, Royce DeJaynes of LaHarpe, Illinois and Emily DeJaynes of Blandinsville, Illinois; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Joyce Kreps of Macomb, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and her parents.

Private family burial will be at the Glade Cemetery in Blandinsville
