Samuel Parsons was born about 1828 in PA and died April 14, 1864, of typhoid fever at Camp Curtin Post Hospital, burial April 15. Please note Errors on headstone confirmed by NARA letter dated August 7, 2012: "There was only one Samuel Parsons in the 99th Infantry & he served in Co. A his whole military service. Headstone listing Co. K appears to be a mistake. Date on headstone is supposed to be date of death, also a mistake." I can email copy of letter if you want to see it.
