LYNN JEAN MAROSCHEK

While Lynn was pregnant with her second child, Amelia Lynn, she was diagnosed with Leukemia. Doctors advised her and her husband Neal to abort their daughter. "I just couldn't do it" She said. Lynn further stated that, "No matter what happens, every minute that I've had with Amelia has been worth it."

What was it that kept this young mother determined? "My baby," she said, with her blue eyes sending a message as clear as her voice, "and my faith." "I firmly, strongly believe that God would not have given me this baby for me to abort, " she said. "This baby needs me to fight." She said. "I could've with an in infection," she said. "miscarriage too, was a strong possibility." "This is my miracle baby." Lynn said.

Lynn said that she did not fear death. Her biggest fear was leaving behind her husband and her children. On Sunday, October 18th, 1992 Lynn Maroschek did die of complications from her bone marrow transplant at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis.

It has been almost 20 years since Lynn was called home. I know that her family and her friends miss her dearly. As I am called to write our family history book, I am getting to know Lynn for the very first time. I can tell from the news articles, letters, pictures, cards and the way people talk about her and remember her that Lynn was a lovely woman and she, to this day is missed. What an honor and a privilege it is for me to get to write about her. Like so many Reese's I only wish I had the honor in life to know them...but that will have to wait for the reunion in Heaven.

Her mother, Barbara wrote to me and shared many tender moments about her daughter with me. Those I will wait and and include in the 2012 Reese Family Book: Fritz & Amelia Reese from Germany to America. Even if you are not a Reese or come from this line you will want a copy of this book...I will leave NOTHING out...and there will be many surprises...I have researched this book in 2 now 3 countries and in 8 states. And I am not finished. The Reese family has everything from wealth to poverty...farming...medicine...tragedy...every family has a story to tell. Some wonder what I will include. And I myself have wondered that. I guess we will all have to get a copy and read it to find out! The book will be about 300 pages...watch www.reesefamily.org for details.
