He was born May 8, 1954 in Bloomington, a son of Vernon D. and Wanda J. Shaw Schieber. He married Theresa Rose on Sept. 15, 1979 in Hudson. She survives.
Also surviving are five brothers, Vergil Schieber, Darrell (Marilyn O'Neil)Schieber, Darwin (Jill) Schieber, Roger (Dana) Schieber and Richard Schieber; two sisters, Vernette (Kent) Wagner and Jan (Bill) Rassi and many nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rollie.
Joe worked at Bridgestone on the receiving docks, where he loaded and unloaded trucks. He was a member of United Steel Workers Union 787 and a member of Truth Tabernacle, Pontiac.
