Died 3:39 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 1985 at Earl K. Long Medical Center. He was 74, a native of Torras and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a heavy equipment operator and pipefitter for Exxon Corp. Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Wooddale Memorial Chapel, 8 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Carl DeLatte. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

Survived by wife, Adeline Hunter, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Hallie Conerly, Baton Rouge and Rena Hunter, San Antonio, Texas; a son, John H. Hunter, Denham Springs; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents; four brothers; and a sister.

He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Operating Engineers Union Local #406 AFLCIO, and Odd Fellows.
