Survived by wife, Adeline Hunter, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Hallie Conerly, Baton Rouge and Rena Hunter, San Antonio, Texas; a son, John H. Hunter, Denham Springs; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Operating Engineers Union Local #406 AFLCIO, and Odd Fellows.
