∼Clara Ruth Stearns, 86 , of Middle River, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care in Towson. Born October 5, 1925 in Mt. Zion, MD, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Marion Cofiell Wilhelm. She was the wife of Lyle D. Stearns, her husband of 67 years.
She enjoyed raising her children and being around her grandchildren. She loved making picture albums and cooking. She had been a short order cook in her earlier years at McCormick's.
Surviving in addition to her husband are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sue Stearns of Baltimore, Michael Stearns of Baltimore, Kevin and Tammy Stearns of Hampstead, sisters Violet McNeeve of Florida and Helen Hale of Westminster. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren , 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter Hope Morrison, a son Martin Stearns and a daughter-in-law Kate Stearns.
The family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead on Sunday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm where services will be held on Monday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium.
