KNOXVILLE - Helen L. Johnson, 94, Knoxville, died at 7:41 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Fairview, the daughter of Bill and Nellie Williams Hornback. She married Frank C. "Shorty" Johnson on Feb. 24, 1937, in Lewistown. He died on Aug. 1, 1986.
Surviving are four sons, Edward (Bonnie) Johnson of Galesburg, Larry (Leola) Johnson of Gilson, Dave (Brenda) Johnson of Ellisville, and Donny Johnson of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Sue Mastroccio of Rome, N.Y., and Kathy (Nick) Plue of Galesburg; daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson of Knoxville; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Charlie and Gary; three sisters; and two brothers.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and baking.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Knoxville Cemetery, the Rev. Don Siems officiating. There will be no visitation.
