Belt, Dec. 6 - Death of a quite prominent man of this section of the state occurred this week, death being due to influenza. Thomas Atkinson, a well-known rancher, died Monday morning at his home on Cora Creek after a long illness with the disease. He was 58 years of age and had been a resident of this section for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, five children, his father, three sisters and one brother, the latter being Charles Atkinson of Raynesford. The funeral was held Tuesday under Masonic auspices.
