Nannie Darnell was born in 1894 in Whitewright, Texas. She married James Milton Darnell in Oklahoma in 1925. They lived in Jackson County where she gave birth to Michelle in 1926, to Donna in 1929 and to Lou in 1931. She was a country wife and raised white leghorn chickens during the 30's feeding her family and buying clothes for them during the big depression. She left James in 1942 and took Donna and Lou with her to join her other daughter Michelle in Bakersfield, California. She resided there until her death from a heart attack in 1968. She was the best mother any of her kids ever knew. She was mourned and loved and honored throughout her life. Lou and Michelle survive her. Lou still farms the Darnell farm at Victory, Oklahoma. Lou's only child, Jon Scott Darnell, was killed in an automobile accident on Dec 27, 2010.
