Funeral services were conducted here Saturday morning at Holy Rosary Catholic church for Joseph Frank Seidl, 81-year-old Medford resident who died Wednesday morning, July 26, at Memorial hospital, Medford, where he had been hospitalized the past two months. He had been in ill health. Rev. Joseph N. Miller officiated and burial took place in Medford Catholic cemetery. The body lay in state at Hemer funeral home, Medford, where rosary devotions were held Friday evening. Mr. Seidl was born Mar. 4, 1891, at Mishicot and received his education there and in Medford area schools. He was employed by Hurd Millwork Corp., Medford, farmed and worked for the Oconomowoc Canning co., retiring in 1951. His marriage to Louise Frenzel Deckelman, who preceded him in death March 31 of this year, took place May 3, 1916, at Medford. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church. Surviving are six sons, Dr. Jerome of Janesville, Arthur of Wausau, James, Richard, Thomas and Ralph of Medford; two daughters, Lucille, Mrs. Edward Meyer, and Miss betty Seidl of Medford; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Seidl of Kewaunee, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, one son and several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
