Marshall's Charming Cousins

Mrs. Samuel G. Bennett died last Thursday after a lingering illness from a cancer. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the Clarendon church. Rev. F. R. Randall, who was her pastor for 13 years officiated, assisted by Rev. Tree, of Cook's Prairie. Mrs. Bennett was a lovely christian lady and loved by all who knew her.

Mrs. Mary E. Bennett died at her home in Clarendon June 20, 1901, aged 67 years. Mary E. Seckler was born in New York state August 3, 1833. Her father with his family removed to Adrian, Mich., and in 1851 the family came to Clarendon township where the deceased has since lived. Of a family of ten children only one remains, Edgar Seckler of Gratiot county who has been with his sister during her illness. She was united in marriage to Samuel G. Bennett October 28, 1853. To this union were born three children only one living to reach the age of manhood. She was a member of the Baptist church. Rev. Randall of the Baptist church conducted the funeral services in the old Clarendon church Saturday.
