Originally from Dixie Mtn., the family moved from the mtn. to the Brookwood neighborhood of Hillsboro in the early 60's. From there the family moved to Mt. Rainier where his father was a Forest Ranger. In 1964 they moved to Seaside, OR where they lived until 1971 moving to Sekiu/Clallam Bay, Wa. where Mark graduated HS in 1978. After going to Penninsula College in Port Angeles, Mark moved back to Dixie Mtn. to work the family Christmas tree farm. He had 2 brothers, Carl and Allen, and a sister, Valerie. He died suddenly at home of a blood clot that had went from his leg to his lungs.
