ANOTHER OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
William Whitebread, one of the old residents of the county died yesterday afternoon as the result of a paralytic stroke, aged 83 years. Within the past three months Mr. Whitebread has had three paralytic strokes but was up and about until some five days ago when he was confined to his bed and his death was not unexpected. He came to this county with his family twenty-six years ago from Lucern county Pa., and has since resided on a farm twelve miles out of the city. He leaves four sons, Mark and Ephriam of this county and Mannassa and Franklin of Lucern county, Pa. The funeral will be held from the Greenwood Baptist church Thursday at 2 p.m., and the interment will be made in Greenwood Greenwood cemetery. The G.A.R.'s of this city will have charge of the funeral. (Provided by Christine McDermott via the Evening Herald, Ottawa, Kansas on January 5, 1898.)
