Father John was a Catholic Priest who shortly after his ordination was assigned to St. Mark Parish in Venice, IL, where heroically crawled under a tornado-collapsed house to give the last sacrament to Police Chief Clifford who later died of his injuries. The Chicago newspaper wrote articles about the hero priest but John did not feel he was a hero, he said he was doing God's work.
