Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 1997, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Rev. John Conrad will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He was born October 25, 1922, at Faribault, Minn., son of the late Bernard and Anna Pirkl Brickner. He attended Ellsworth Schools. Leo farmed in the Reedsville area for many years and was then employed by the Larro Feed Division of General Mills in sales. He retired as area sales manager for Vigortone Ag Products in 1986. He married Delores Gores June 20, 1953, at Almena, Wis. He was a member of St. Mary Church serving as a lector and usher. Leo enjoyed his family and grandchildren, the morning coffee groups to talk farming, traveling and a good game of sheepshead.
Survivors include his wife, Delores, Valders; four sons and three daughters-in-law; Larry and Bernie Brickner, Sturgeon Bay, Jerry and Kristine Brickner, Port Washington, John and Karen Brickner, Rice Lake, Mark Brickner, Sturgeon Bay; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary Ostrom, Columbus, Ohio, Barbara and Eric Christianson, Greendale, Debra and Richard Reimer, Green Bay, Beverly and Alan Berg, Menomonee Falls, Jean and James Barnes, Valders, Beth Marie Brickner and special friend, Stephen Poremba, Sussex; four brothers, Clem (Ruby) Brickner, Harlingen, Texas, Raymond Brickner, River Falls, Cletus (Betty) Brickner, Prescott, Burton and Jean Brickner, Ellsworth; one sister, Irene (Earl) Amundson, Minneapolis, Minn.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ervin (Marian) Gores, Almena, Wis., John (Mary Ann) Gores, Chetek, Jerome Gores, Almena; 16 grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Ostrom.
The family would like to thank the complete medical and nursing staff of Bellin Hospital.
Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is assisting the family.
