David A. Carlson, 60, a former Manitowoc resident who resided at Trevor, Wis., died Friday evening, March 19, at Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wis. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will celebrate the Mass of Resurrection and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Clarks Mills.
Mr. Carlson was born Oct. 27, 1921 at Manitowoc, son of the late Oscar and Thresa Naide Carlson. He attended Manitowoc schools and was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1940. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Navy from August of 1942 to January of 1946. He married Bernice Linsmeyer Dec. 13, 1952 at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Dec. 6, 1964. Prior to his illness he had been employed at Miller Brewery of Milwaukee as an instrument technician. Mr. Carlson was a charter member of V.F.W. Otto Oas Post No. 659 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 706.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee Carlson of Burlington, Wis., and Michael and Faith Carlson of Trevor, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Sophie Huss of Manitowoc and two grandchildren, Thomas Lee Jr. and Tanya Lynn. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening where a prayer service will be at 7:30 o'clock.
