Alice Doubek, age 90, of 833 N. 14th St., Milwaukee, died Thursday, February 3, 2000, at Progressive Care Center, Sheboygan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2000, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. John Conrad with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
Alice was born May 30, 1909, in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Frank and Lena Meyer Doubek. Alice graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1927. She lived most of her adult life in Milwaukee, where she was employed at Hein Electric. Alice was a member of the Wisconsin Historical Society, the Gesu Catholic Church, Milwaukee, where she was very active in church activities. Alice did much volunteer work at the Civic Center in Milwaukee. Since her retirement in 1980, she was able to enjoy traveling.
Survivors include cousins: a friend, Josephine Hurst, Milwaukee; and another very special person in her life. Friends may call at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. A memorial fund will be established in her name at Gesu Catholic Church, Milwaukee.
