Sevy was born in Kelly, his family moved to Magdalena when he was a young child. Sevy joined the United States Air Force after high school and served in the Korean War.
Sevy and Mamie were married for almost 53 years raising their family in Albuquerque and then Magdalena. Sevy retired from the NRAO in 1994.
Sevy loved basketball, classic cars and especially his family. Sevy loved being a foster grandparent at Magdalena Elementary School. It was a joy to him to get up in the morning and spend time with those children he loved and who loved him back.
