Tom Sheller, 48 years of age of Garrettsville, died Friday, December 31, 2004.
Mr. Sheller was born July 21, 1956 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of David A. and Virginia (Lucas) Sheller.
A lifetime Garrettsville area resident, Tom was 1974 graduate of James A. Garfield High Scool. He then was employed at L&P Machine in Garrettsville, following which he was employed as a mechanical engineer for 10 years at Englehard in Hiram and then at Trexler Rubber Company in Ravenna for 6 years. Tom traveled world wide for Englehard and developed 12 patents for the company.
In High School, he was the recipient of numerous Science Awards relating to inventions. Tom was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville and the A.M.A. Tom was an avid remote control radio airplane operator and car enthusiast. He loved and enjoyed all of the special times he spent with all of his family.
Survivors include his loving children, David R. , Robert W., Kimberley A. and Andrea M. all of Garrettsville, parents, David A. and Ginger Sheller of Garrettsville, sisters, Polly A. (David) Winchell, Susan L. (John) Pickett and Beverly R. Sheller, all of Garrettsville and Mary T. (Jeffrey) Chance of Aventura, Florida and his grandmother Dorothy Sheller of Lakeland, Florida. Also surviving is his dear friend Pauline Hanzel, his former wife, Dorothy Sheller, 5 nieces, 1 nephew and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ray L. Sheller and grandparents, Polly A. and Roy E. Lucas, Sr.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.at the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service, St., Rt. 44 at the corner of Pioneer Trail, Mantua where prayers will be said Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville with Rev. Fr. Richard Pentello officiating.
