Alma Dudley - Services have been held for Alma Dudley, who died Jan. 20 at Villa Cruz Guest Home. She was 101. Mrs. Dudley was born in Athens, Texas. She moved to Santa Cruz to be near her son Sherwood, with whom she lived from 1991 until last year. In 2004, then-Mayor Scott Kennedy proclaimed April 1 Alma Dudley Day in the city of Santa Cruz. She was a member of the Church of Christ.Mrs. Dudley is survived by son Sherwood Dudley of Santa Cruz; Robert Bratton of Felton, whom she considered a grandson; four nieces, 16 great-nieces and nephews; and 14 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Oakwood Crystal Chapel in Santa Cruz.She will be buried beside her husband in Port Arthur, Texas.
