Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Adkins was born March 5, 1926 to Robert Rudolph Spears and Myrtle Irene (Bull) Spears in Houston County, Tennessee. She passed away July 7, 2012 at NHC HealthCare Center of Dickson.

She is survived by: son Dalton H. Adkins and his wife Shirley of Dickson; brother Billy Spears and his wife Betty of Vanleer; sisters Patricia Kouns and her husband Vernon of Nashville, Sarah Yates and her husband Dudley of Salchey, Alaska, Lillie Bell Baggett and her husband Kenneth of Dover, and Faye Cripps and her husband Robert of Lebanon; three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Adkins is preceded in death by her husband Dalton Adkins, son Clyde Dale Adkins, daughter Judy Marie Haley, granddaughter Leslie Marie Haley, and sister Betty Jean Ellis.

Visitation will be Monday, July 9th, from 2-8 pm and Tuesday, July 10th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 10th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginnning at 1 pm with Pastor Larry W. Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Houston County.
