Easter M. Davis Jr. of Hannibal, MO and formerly of Russell, KS, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal. Easter was born July 17, 1921 in Timpson, TX the son of Easter M. Sr. and Dettie G. (Chandler) Davis. He grew up in Garrison, TX and graduated from Garrison High School. He has many friends in his graduating class and tried to never miss their annual class reunion. His 70th high school reunion was in 2010 which Easter was able to attend.

Easter serviced his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was stationed at Pratt Air Force Base in Pratt, KS and Walker Air Base in Walker, KS. After the war, Easter remained in Kansas and ran Easter's Welding Service for 40 years. Easter was a talented welder and well known for his creativity and ingenuity with metal.

Easter was united in marriage to Clara Pearl Agnew in 1943 and she proceeded him in death in 1985. He married Virginia S. Darnell of Hutchinson, KS on Aug. 22, 1986. They made their home in Russell and Hutchinson. Virginia proceeded Easter in death in 2009.

Easter was a member of the Trinity United Methodist church. He was a 50 year member of Russell's Masonic Blue Lodge; Consistory Isis Temple of Salina; and the York Rite in Great Bend. He was past president of the Russell Shrine Club, Grid Iron Club and Russell Rotary Club. He also belonged to the Russell Elk's Lodge, Russell American Legion Post #99, Russell Historical Society, Russell Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was Co-chairman of the Russell Oil Patch Museum. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his horses & participating as a Calf Roper in regional rodeos.

Surviving family include his son Cecil Davis of Clarence, NY; daughters, Marilyn Lisenbee of Maywood, MO and Sharolyn Formsma of Hannibal, MO; two brothers, David Davis of Crosby, TX and Harry Davis of Conroe, TX; two sisters, Sarah Teer of Conroe, TX and Yvette Teer of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren and 3 gt. grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Mike Davis; brothers James, Charles, George and W.H. "Sony" Davis; sisters Merlen Teer, Yvonne Chaney and Emmagene Davis.
