Miami - Annabelle June Metzler, 84, of Miami, formerly of Elkhart, Ind, passed away on Friday, Feb 24, 2012, at Grand Court Assisted Living in Miami.

She was born March 4, 1927, in Elkhart to Charles and Bertha (Nusbaum) Metzler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lowell Metzler; and two sisters, Erma Miller and Mildred Stump.

She was retired from Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami, where she was a nurse for 27 years.

Annabelle's volunteer duties included Brethren Church Volunteer Service in Puerto Rico. She delivered 50 babies between 1960-64. She was a Big Sister for 10 years. She served as a church camp nurse. She was a member of Raden Methodist Church in Miami and enjoyed traveling. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1945 and then graduated from Memorial Hospital of South Bend School of Nursing in 1957.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012, from 2 to 3 pm at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements. Following the visitation a funeral procession will lead to Olive Cemetery where a graveside service will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
