Joseph M. Anderson Born May 9, 1847 Died at his home four miles east of Jasper on Monday around six o'clock after a long illness on August 28, 1933. The funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the late residence by Reverend A. E. Middlebrooks pastor of the M. E. Church. The song "Face to Face" was sung by selected choir members Scripture Reading and Prayer, along by a talk given by the Reverend Middlebrooks the closing song was "Home of the Soul" Interment was made at the David Hoge Cemetery one mile south of Jasper and was conducted by the Masonic Lodge. Joseph Anderson had a daugher Ellen Anderson, & two living sons Hugh and Robert, another son David Anderson who passed away in Florida in 1932. A wife Miss Mitchell who had preceded him in death 40 years earlier. Joseph Anderson was one of the pioneer residents of the county, and a highly respected citizen. Joseph was the son of Josiah Anderson who was born in Virginia and his mother's Maiden name was Lamb.
