Betty Lou Turner was born on Labor Day, Sept. 3, 1928, on her family farm in Tokio, TX. She then graduated high school in Plains, TX. Later, she attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Betty's passions were God, family, tennis, and helping young people achieve.

She taught Sunday School for years, invited disadvantaged youth into her home, counseled at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, volunteered at Baptist Hospital and served at church wherever she lived. Betty was an accomplished executive secretary and bookkeeper. She met Glen in Lubbock, TX and were married at the First Baptist Church on Feb. 11, 1954. On Feb. 2, 2008, when at home, she gracefully joined her family in Heaven while in the arms of loved ones, singing Baptist Hymns.

Her husband, Glen; son, Gary; grand-daughters, Melissa and Tammie; great-grandsons, Stevie and Marcus; and a great-granddaughter, Victoria survive her. Also two brothers. R.D. and Harvey Romans. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Northwest Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wed., Feb. 6, 2008, at Northwest Baptist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Burial Park.
