James Edward Stratton
Rye, N.Y. - James Edward Stratton, 66, a former Plattsburgh resident, died unexpectedly here Friday evening.He was born Jan. 26, 1901, the son of the late Edward D. and Catherine (Goodspeed) Stratton of Beekman St., Plattsburgh.
At the time of his death, Mr. Stratton was principal of Rye High School, a position he had held for many years.
Besides his wife, the former Ruth Signor he is survived by one son John E. Stratton of Sudbury, Mass., and one daughter Mrs. Carlton Kline of ridgefield, Conn.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. C. R. Lavigne of 21 Durand St., Plattsburgh and Mrs. Elmer Stafford of 6 Stafford Drive, Plattsburgh and one brother, George of Troy, N.Y.
Eight grandchildren also survive.
Funeral arrangements are as yet incomplete. Burial is however, scheduled for Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
