Funeral for Mrs. Fannie Slaughter Evans, 85, of 200 Spring Garden St., Apt. 914, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Funeral Home. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

A native of Person County, she was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was an active senior citizen volunteer for the past 20 years and received several awards of recognition. In 1984 she received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, presented by then-Gov. Jim Hunt; in 1979 she received a certificate of recognition from the N.C. Department of Human Resources; and in 1982 she was recognized as the Senior Citizen of the Month by the city of Greensboro.

Surviving are sons, W.T. Slaughter of Greensboro, David L. Slaughter of Clarksville, Tenn.; daughters, Mrs. Katie S. Cashion, Ms. Barbara S. Albright, both of Greensboro, Mrs. Louise S. Overby of Kernersville; 15 grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence of Mrs. Katie S. Cashion, 103 W. Greenway North.
