He married Lucinda Bell Cales at Sandstone, Summers Co, WV, on 12 Mar 1882. Married at the home of Riley Adkins by Rev. John R. Harrah. Lucinda was the daughter of James and Nancy C. Cales.
Occupation: farmer in Jan 1920 at Brooks Rd, Green Sulphur Dist, Summers Co, WV.
Melville died on 19 Dec 1923 at Hinton, Summers Co, WV, at age 63. Died of bronchial pneumonia.
His body was interred on 20 Dec 1923 at Chestnut Mtn, Brooks, Summers Co, WV, at Johnson Cem.
