Dorothy Mae Allen Gould, age 80, of Wharton, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, in a Sugar Land nursing home following a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 4, 1926 in East Bernard, daughter of the late Albert Bremser and Alma Schultz Bremser.

Mrs. Gould had been a resident of Wharton for most of her life. She attended Wharton High School. Mrs. Gould married Adren Allen on Nov. 12, 1944 in Thurston, Wash., and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1984. She later married Mr. Emery Gould on Jan. 7, 1989 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wharton. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2006. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Gould was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Tate.

Mrs. Gould was a homemaker and a co-owner with her husband of the Bar-B-Que Barn in Wharton for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wharton. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, dancing to big band music and going RV'ing with Emery.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at 2 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church in Wharton with Rev. Barry Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Sewell and husband, Terry, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, Albert Lee Allen and wife, Mary, of Sugar Land; grandchildren, Lea Ann Smith and husband, Karl, of Colorado Springs, Jason Edward Allen of Houston, and John Adren Allen of Houston; and great-grandson, Joshua Smith.

Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
