Funeral services for Burwell Ficklen Lee of Pleasanton, descendent of the Robert E. Lee family of Virginia and former superintendent of the Hearst ranch, will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at St. Stephen's Episcopal church in San Luis Obispo.
The B.P.O. Elks lodge, No. 322, of which he was a member, will conduct the services at the graveside in the I.O.O.F. Lawn cemetery where interment will be made.
Last rites will be under the direction of the C.W. Palmer Mortuary at which funeral home the body lied in state and where friends may call.
Born in Virginia, Mr. Lee came to this county many years ago. During the time he was in charge of the W.R. Hearst ranch he purchased a ranch near Pleasanton, where he retired 10 years ago where death claimed him.
He is survived by his widow, Julia Estrada Lee, formerly of San Simeon, and by two brothers and two sisters in Virginia and Washington.
A sister-in-law, Mrs. R.J. Summers of San Simeon, also survives.
Mr. Lee was 57 years old when death came.
