Bertha Marie Willis, 96, a resident of Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at 5:55 p.m. at Sunrise Manor. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Gillium and Mary Elizabeth Yates Breeding.
She was preceded in death by her husband Evan Willis who died May 6, 1983. Also preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Willis in 2006 and his wife Connie Willis in 2005, also one great granddaughter. She is survived by two sons: Bobbie Willis and his wife Nancy of Columbia, KY and Danny Willis of Louisville, KY; two daughters: Reba Stewart and her late husband Charles of Louisville, KY, and Elizabeth Grubbs and her husband Loren of Hodgenville, KY; one sister Myrtle Grimsley of Columbia, KY; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. Bertha was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, retired from Stewarts Dry Goods in Louisville and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. CDT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Johnson officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be today after 3:00 p.m. CDT. Pallbearers: Mark Willis, Jeff Stewart, Brian Willis, Montie Grubbs, Garry Grubbs, Steve Grubbs, Dana Grubbs, and Lenn Grubbs.
