Herb was born in Merritt Island, FL on Nov 7, 1924. He is the second son of his mother, the late Nellie Bailey Smith Rutzebeck Varn, brother George Smith, Forrest Rutzebeck and sister Martha Rutzebeck and his father George Rutzebeck.
Herb joined the Navy at the age of 18 and was married to his wife for 57 years. Herb will be greatly missed by all who knew him, our loss is heavens gain.
He is survived by his loving wife, 3 sons, 8 grand children and 15 great grandchildren.
∼HERBERT R. RUTZEBECK - He is the son of George Smith and Nellie Bailey Smith Rutzebeck Varn. Herb was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ella Mae Cosson Rutzebeck; children, Herbert (Vicki) Rutzebeck Jr, Alfred Curtis Rutzeback, Andrew Fredrick (Elaine) Rutzebeck; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on August 26th at Brewer and Sons Kurfiss Clermont Chapel in Clermont, FL.
