David graduated from Calhoun High School and got an Associate degree from Bee County College. He was a valued and dedicated employee of Anadarko Petroleum for over 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Lavaca. He was an amazing husband, father, son, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and close friends cooking on the grill and playing washers.
David was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Willoughby.
He is surived by his wife of 19 years, Charlene Dobbs Willoughby, formerly of Kerrville, Texas; son, Colton Willoughby and daughter Madison Willoughby, both of Port Lavaca; mother, Barbara Willoughby, of Port Lavaca; sisters, Rita Burgess (Ron) of Skidmore, Texas, Karen Caughron (Michael) of Port Lavaca, Texas; mother-in-law, Felecia Fisher Dobbs; father-in-law, Charles Ray Dobbs Sr., of Kerrville, Texas; sisters-in-law, Debra Dobbs Machen (Richard) of Uvalde, Texas, and Denise Dobbs Weinheimer of Kerrville, Texas; and brother-in-law, Charles Ray Dobbs Jr. (Sylvia) of Kerrville, Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jeremy Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Brice Caughron, Mikayla Caughron, Mallory Machen Dougherty (Sean), Kyle Machen, Richter Weinheimer and daughter Ellie, and Whitney Weinheimer.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 902 Calhoun Drive, Port Lavaca, Texas, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.
