Mrs. Zielsdorf Dies At Hospital Today
Was Resident Here 63 Years; Rites Tuesday
Mrs. Mathilda Zielsdorf, 83, 329 North Warren St., widow of Julius Zielsdorf, died at Watertown Memorial Hospital at 4:30 a.m. today after a lingering illness. She had been a resident of this city for 63 years.
Born in the town of Trenton on April 15, 1879, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ollerman. Her marriage to Mr. Zielsdorf took place in Immanuel Lutheran Church at Waupun on April 24, 1901.
Mr. Zielsdorf died here in 1952.
Surviving Mrs. Zielsdorf are a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Wege, route 5, and two sons, Laurence and Arthur, both of Watertown. There are four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren[one of which is this author].
Last of Family
Mrs. Zielsdorf was the last member of her immediate family. Besides her husband and a daughter, four sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Women's Fellowship of the church and the Watertown Chapter of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Mrs. Zielsdorf had been ill a long period but remained cheerful and composed and was always glad to see her friends and callers. In her private life she was devoted to her home and her family, found pleasure in her garden and flowers and possessed an outgoing personality that made for her many friends.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m at the Pederson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan J. Kromholz officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects after 1 p.m. Monday or on Tuesday before 1:30 p.m.
