Daily Press, Riverside, CA Feb 1, 1951, Rev. Lemmon Taken By Death. Schoolteacher, professional ballplayer, cowboy and evangelist in his lifetime, Rev. W.S. Lemmon died Tuesday at his Riverside home after 57 years as a minister.

Born in 1863 in Clyde, Ohio, he was ordained at age 30 after a varied career. He served as evangelist for the Christian Church in midwestern and Pacific Coast states and was manager of the Chatauqua circuit in the western states in 1923.

In 1941 he married Frances Roderick of Riverside; she survives him. During World War II he acted as interim paster of the First Christian Church here.

He previously had held pastorates in Spokane, Tacoma, Centralia and Hoquiam in Washington; in Portland, Oregon; and at Chico, Madera, Napa, Yuba City and Porterville in California.

In addition to his wife, Rev. Lemmon leaves two sons and two daughters by an earlier marriage, seven grandchildren and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.Am. at the First Christian Church with Rev. B. Frank Cron officiating. Burial will follow at Olivewood
