Daisy was born at Cherryvale, Kansas and as a small child moved to the Russell Creek distrcit, rural Chetopa. At the time of her death, she was the last remaining child of the late Archiband Yale and Jemimma (Hill) Smith.

She was married to Fred B. Duncan, October 25, 1903. To this union was born six children: Inola, Lucille, Suson, Richard, Robert and Raymond.

Sgt. Raymond J. Duncan was killed in the Battle of Cassino, Italy during World War II.

Daisy was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chetopa and had been a faithful servant of the Lord since the age of 18. She was active in churc work.

As a mother who had lost a son in the service, she was a Gold Star Mother and a charter member of the Chetopa American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Excelsior Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and assisted in the organization of the O.K. Sewing Club.
