Ann Stevenson, 92, died peacefully on July 14, 2012, at Danbury Hospital. She was born August 22, 1919, to Patrick and Mabel Troy. Ann, known as Mimi to all who cherished her, will be remembered for her love of children and strength of spirit. As a young woman, Ann attended Bethel High School and then began work at Singer Sewing Machine Co. She married her sweetheart, John Stevenson, in 1942 and started a family soon after. In 1951, she and John founded Stevenson's Imported Car Center. Later in life, Mimi was a dedicated grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Never without a child in her arms, Mimi was the epitome of warmth and compassion. To enter her home was to become part of the family. Ann is survived by her son, John Stevenson Jr., and his wife Cheryl of Palm Harbor, FL; daughters Mary Sullivan and her husband, Mark of Windsor, CT, and Jean Visconti and her husband, Ted of Bethel, CT.; niece, Peggy Davis and her husband, Norman of Bethel, CT; nephew, Edward Stevenson and his wife, Loretta of Glen St. Mary, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, John Stevenson Sr., and her sons, Daniel and James and her siblings: Raymond, Catherine, Mabel and Ruth. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Mary's Church in Bethel. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
