Joseph B. Goodwin

ELIOT-Joseph Bradford Goodwin, 65, of 9 Leach Rd. formerly of Amesbury, Mass., and a resident of Kittery and Eliot for many years, died yesterday at Harbor Hospital, York.

Born in Amesbury, Mass., Jan. 12, 1888, the son of Joseph and Jennie (Armstrong) goodwin, he had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the electrical manufacturing shop for 17 years, retiring in 1950. Since then he has been employed by the Frank G. Robinson Co. of Portsmouth as a metal polisher.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Goodwin; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Jones of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Shirley Rollins of Kittery; four sons, Bradford S. and Carl J., both of Kittery, Robert B. of Eliot and Eugene R. Goodwin, serving the U.S. Army; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Laxson of Amesbury and Mrs. Carrie Jose of Tucson, Ariz.; and 16 grandchildren.

ELIOT-Funeral services for Joseph Bradford Goodwin, 65, of 9 Leach Rd., who died Friday night, were held yesterday from the Franklin G. Wilson Funeral Home.

The Rev. William Chamberlain, pastor of the East Eliot Methodist Church, conducted the service and the committal at the grave in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Amesbury, Mass.

Among those attending was Mrs. Reginald Whitehouse, worthy matran representing Rivermouth Chapter, OES, of Portsmouth.

Bearers were Bradford S., Robert B., Carl J., Eugene R. Goodwin-sons of the deceased, and Leon Main and Harold Rollins.
