Obituary - Mrs. Caroline Susan Beck, aged 73, died at her home on Columbia Street, Patchogue, last night after a five-day illness. Born in Rochester, September 10, 1876, she had lived in Patchogue since 1900.
She will repose at the Pettit Funeral home, Patchogue. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Carl G. Gernannt officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
Surviving are her husband, Martin Beck; three daughters, Mrs. George Fiebe, and Mrs. Emil Praetorius of Patchogue and Mrs. James Carter of Bellmore; one sister, Mrs. K. Bumpus of Patchogue; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Beck, who had always taken a very active part in community work, had been president of the Senior Ladies' Aid Society of the Emanuel Lutheran Church for 16 years and was one of the three remaining charter members of the society. She was also one of the founders of the church in 1912. She was chaplain of the Marion branch of the International Sunshine society and a member of the Dorothea Rebekah lodge and of the Steuben Society of America.
Mr. and Mrs. Beck were married forty-seven years last May.
