Sp: Charles Abry∼Anne (Whitman Abry, 80, a thirty-four year resident of Thompson, Connecticut, died on January 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born New York City, the daughter of the late Reginald and Adelaide (Flint) Whitman. She attended the Chapin School and Barmore Junior College, both in New York City. She worked as a case manager, supervisor, and then as director of the State Home Care Program at Tri-Valley Elder Services in Dudley, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Abry, IV, and her sister, Carol Whitman. She was a member of the Geriatric Providers Council comprised of elder care agencies serving the great Milford area and the Blackstone Valley. She was a board member for the Friends of the Thompson Library, former Vice President of the New England West Highland White Terrier Club, a member of the Thompson Historic Society, the West Highland White Terrier Society of Connecticut, and the Thimble Club. As a board member of the Quinebaug Valley Community College, she raised funds to grant scholarships and served as a Learning In Retirement liaison. She was survived by her six children, two nephews, seventeen grandchildren, and her partner.
