Maurine Smoot Bourne "My Sweetheart" KAYSVILLE – Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Maurine Smoot Bourne, passed away Friday, April 23, 2004 at the age of 93, surrounded by her family in Kaysville, Utah. She died of natural causes due to age. She was born on the unique date of New Years Day 1911 (1/1/11) at 11:00 p.m. in Provo, Utah. She was the fourth child of ten children born to Horace Alma and Edna Louise Stubbs Smoot. Maurine's greatest joys were found in her husband of over 70 years, Kenneth L. Bourne, and their three boys. Ken and Maurine were married September 6, 1933 in Farmington, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized January 13, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Maurine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church callings. She graduated from Davis High School in 1929, began her collegiate career at BYU, and later graduated from LDS Business College. She had fond memories of her life in Provo, Utah, St. Anthony, Idaho, Farmington and Kaysville, Utah. She worked for 23 years at Hill Air Force Base as an early computer technician, retiring in 1973. After retiring, Ken and Maurine enjoyed traveling, including multiple cruises with their dear friends, Cliff and Virginia Larkins. She also loved to host her "Grandma Parties" with her many grandchildren whom she loved as much as life itself. She is survived by her "Honey" Ken, her three sons, Richard K. (Loraine) and Robert L. (Sue) of Kaysville, Utah; Curtis A. (Connie) of Rexburg, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
