Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gruver United Methodist Church with Gary Gumfory officiating. Burial will follow in Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Corky was born June 9, 1931, in a dugout north of Spearman to Carl and Alma Kizziar. He married Paula Bennett in 1949 and shared a wonderful life until she died in July 2011. He enjoyed life in spite of its hardships and cherished meeting and visiting his friends.
Corky was a cowboy for life. He attended school in Spearman and was raised there, learning to use and care for horses and cattle that would provide for him and his family throughout his life. The last half of his life was spent hauling cattle several million miles across the United States.
He loved his family. He and Paula had 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many others that considered them "Granny and Papa." He was loved by them all and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Prater of Dalhart; and his children, Bo and Carol Kizziar of Amarillo, Lana and Mike O'Hare of Channing and Terry and Sandy Kizziar and Carla Jones, all of Gruver.
The family suggests memorials be to Ochiltree Hospice, 3101 Garrett Drive, Perryton, TX 79070.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
