Benjamin was a s/o Richard Mullins and Rebecca Berry. He was married to Sarah Ann Daugherty, August 20, 1856 by Thomas Loomis in Pendelton Co., Kentucky. She was the d/o Jonathan Daugherty and Sarah Thrasher. They had the following children:
[1] Stephen B. Mullins, 1857-1859.
[2] Franklin Mullins, 1859-1868.
[3] Etta Mullins, 1862-1937.
[4] Olive "Ollie" Mullins, b. 1866 d. August 10, 1933 in Valparaiso, Indiana.
[5] Daisey "Dosie" Mullins, 1869-1926; m. Amos G. Meador, 1869-1923 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky.
[6] Ellen "Nellie" Mullins, b. 1871, m. Leslie E. Loomis.
[7] Maude Mullins, b. 1874 d. 1960; m. John W. McGentry.
[8] Frances Mullins, b. April 26, 1876 d. 1939; m. Hickman P. Childers January 9, 1900 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky.

Benjamin was a Capt. in Co. "C", First Mounted Rifles, C.S.A. He was captured and spent most of the war on Johnson's Island just off shore at Lower Sandusky, Ohio (Lake Erie).
