Nathaniel A. Whitford was the son of Dennis/Denis Whitford (1765-1859) and Ruth Arnold Whitford. He married his first wife, Susan _____ in about 1827. They had sons David, Dennis, and perhaps other sons. After Susan's death Nathaniel married Rebecca Brown in about 1842 in PA. They lived in Chautauqua, NY and Waverly, MI. Rebecca and Nathaniel had eleven children. After Nathaniel's death, Rebecca and some of their children moved to KS and then to Allen, NE., Davis County. Rebecca passed away in Newcastle, NE. on November 24, 1918. Susan Anne Whitford Smith, Nathaniel and Rebecca's eldest child, is listed on FAG, # 5631611 Kechi Cemetery, Sedgewich, Kansas along with 6 of her children in Kechi Cemetery, and others in this family are also listed on FindAGrave.
