After the war, he moved to San Jose, CA and attended San Jose State where he obtained a teaching credential in 1950-1957. During this time, he studied and obtained his Masters in Business. In 1957, Ray and his wife moved back to San Jose with their two young children and he started working at IBM. In 1959, a third child was born. Ray worked at IBM until 1987 when he retired. His wife, Ruth, of 30 years died in 1977. In 1995, Ray relocated to Chico, CA to be near his grandchildren.
Ray's children and grandchildren remember many happy times with him as most of his life was spent doing things with his family. Ray is survived by his sons, Gary and Randy Schreck and his daughter, Kathy Betty. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Breanna, Kimberly, Melissa, Stephen, Lauren, and Brian. He will be greatly missed.
