Bob was born April 18, 1942 in Milwaukee. He was the son of the late Joseph and Violet Hoff. Bob graduated from Milwaukee Boys Tech High School with the class of 1961. He had been employed as a security officer at Brillion Iron works until the present time. On May 23, 1981, Bob married Lorna (Lori) Helgeson at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a very active and long time dedicated member of the Whitelaw Volunteer Fire Department for almost 25 years and also served as a trustee for the Whitelaw Village Board for more than 20 years. Bob enjoyed NASCAR, especially following the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. in the past years and now Dale Earnhardt Jr. Bob also had a great interest in Elvis Presley, collecting a lot of his music and memorabilia.
Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years: Lori; his children; Jessica L. Hoff, Milwaukee; Jamie L. Hoff, at home; Scott (Shari) Hoff, Cudahy; mother in law: Marie Helgeson, Manitowoc; sisters in law and brothers in law: Judy (Bill) Heinzen, Manitowoc; Joan (Tony) Fessler, Manitowoc; Howie (LuAnn) Helgeson, Manitowoc; Karen (Ken) Schuler, Kiel; Allen (Arlene) Helgeson, Manitowoc; Vicki (Jim) Dworak, Cato; brothers and sisters: Rosie King; Violet Whitmore; Virgil (Corine) Hoff; Beatrice (Paul) Roberts; George (Marlene) Hoff; Mary Louise Schreiner; Richard Hoff; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and manyu friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Betty Van Price; father in law: Walter Helgeson; and one brother in law: Stanley Helgeson.
Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Thomas Koch. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church, Clarks Mills, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bob's name.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. The family would also like to recognize and extend a special thank you to the group of young men who were the first to come upon the scene of the accident and did what they could do to assist those who were injured and quickly contact the emergency medical services in obtaining help.
