Daughter of John & Christina (Heimbach) Mensch
SARAH (MENSCH) BURGER an old and respected resident of the town, died on Wednesday morning about 7 o' clock after a lingering illness of several weeks. She was seventy-four years old. The funeral took place at the Union church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The remains were followed to their last earthly resting place by a very large number of her relatives, friends and neighbors. Rev. E. Brown officiated at the funeral and preached an eloquent sermon from the text "And thou shall be missed because thy seat will be empty, 1st Samuel, 20 chapter and 18th verse."
Sarah was married first to Joseph Reitz in 1833. They had two sons, John A Reitz and William Reitz. Joseph died in 1836.
Sarah married Isaac Burger in 1838.
